Beginning September 15, 2017, ACH payments (electronic payments) may begin to clear your account the same day payment is initiated. Examples of ACH payments include direct deposits, bill payments, checks written to certain businesses that are processed electronically (such as Walmart), and transactions processed by independent retailer-issued debit cards (such as Target's Red Card). To clarify, this means when you authorize a payment to a merchant or payee, funds may be removed from your account that same day.
As a reminder, you should always have sufficient funds in your account to cover any payment you make, authorize or initiate. Please make it a habit to regularly review your transaction history and account statements.
